Centre Shops Mix and Mingle — Takes place from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Centre Shops of Longboat Key, 5370 Gulf of Mexico Drive. Residents are invited to tour the Centre Shops and enjoy food, drinks and entertainment. Most businesses in the center will be open.  Cost is free. Call 383-2466.

Wednesday, March 2

Longboat Key Health Fair — Takes place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Longboat Key Town Hall, 501 Bay Isles Road. The event is free for residents who have Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance coverage and $39 for others. The event includes blood pressure, cholesterol and diabetes screenings and more. 'In the Kitchen with Sylvia' — Takes place at noon at Temple Beth Israel, 567 Bay Isles Road. The event will be a hands-on demonstration by Temple member and “chef extraordinaire” Sylvia Pastor. Call 383-3428.

Saturday, March 5

St. Mary Royal Rummage Sale — Takes place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Mary Star of the Sea, Catholic Church, 4280 Gulf of Mexico Drive. Stock up on everything from jewelry to furniture. Cost is free, and there will be a preview sale from noon to 4 p.m. Friday, March 4, which costs $5. Call 383-1255.

Longboat Key Garden Club Home Tour — Takes place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at six homes throughout Longboat Key. See how others live around the island by touring six houses unique in structure and design. Cost is $25. Lord’s Warehouse Fashion Show and Luncheon — takes place at 11 a.m. at Longboat Island Chapel, 6200 Gulf of Mexico Drive. The longest-running annual fashion show on the Key features clothing and accessories from the Lord’s Warehouse thrift store. There will be door prizes, a silent auction and raffles. Cost is $25.
