FRIDAY, FEB. 26

The Braden River and The Out-of-Door Academy boys and girls track teams compete the annual Sarasota Riverview Ram Invitational, scheduled to begin at 2:30 p.m. Fourteen teams stretching from Port Charlotte to DeSoto County will participate in the meet. 

FRIDAY, FEB. 26 

The Braden River baseball team looks to remain unbeaten in the Class 7A-District 9 standings against Brandon. The Pirates welcome the Eagles at 7 p.m. for the first of two meetings between the two district foes who could eventually wind up playing one another for the district title. 

SATURDAY, FEB. 27 and SUNDAY, FEB. 28

Looking to defend its title, the Sarasota Crew hopes to get off to a fast start when the seventh annual Sarasota Invitational Regatta launches at 8 a.m., at Nathan Benderson Park, in Sarasota. More than 1,500 athletes in youth, masters and adaptive rowing from across the Southeast are expected to compete in the two-day regatta. 

TUESDAY, March 1 

Behind a pair of freshman standouts in Gia Cohen and Grace Hagopian, the defending state champion Lakewood Ranch girls tennis team is undefeated heading into its 3 p.m. match against rival Venice.
