1 — Braden River pitcher Ali Yawn threw a no-hitter to power the Pirates to a 17-0 district victory against Brandon Feb. 26.

2 — Braden River junior Chance Sharbono finished third in the 138-pound weight class at the Class 2A-Region 3 meet Feb. 26 and Feb. 27, in Charlotte, to earn a berth in the Class 2A state tournament March 4 and March 5, in Kissimmee.

3 — Kinsey Goelz launched a pair of home runs and drove in five runs to lead the Lakewood Ranch softball team to a 10-1 district victory over Palmetto Feb. 25.

4 — Denali Schappacher hit a walk-off hit to left field to propel the Lakewood Ranch softball team to a 3-2 nine-inning victory over rival Sarasota Feb. 23.

5 — Mary Marblestone and Carolyn Kluding both scored 15 to tie for first place in the low putts LGA nine-hole event Feb. 25, at University Park Country Club.
