Thunder by the Bay
Times and locations vary by event. For one weekend each year motorcycles take over Downtown Sarasota with contests and concerts down Main Street. Events include a Cruise for Cash and a sporting clay tournament. Admission is free for the downtown festival. Prices vary for parties and contests. Visit thunderbythebay.org.

Republican Women's Club of Sarasota Luncheon

Gem, Jewelry and Bead Show

Andrew Monroe Memorial Scholarship 5K
Starts at 6:30 a.m. at Siesta Key Beach, 948 Beach Road. Proceeds from the race will benefit a scholarship fund formed in memory of Riverview High School student and soccer player Andrew Monroe. Participants are encouraged to bring a canned good to donate to the Mayors Feed the Hungry program. The start time for the 5K is 8:15 a.m. Registration is $35. Visit andrewmonroe.com

Circus Ring of Fame Ceremony
Starts at 1:30 p.m. at St. Armands Circle Park. This year’s inductees are ring master Count Nicholas, the Hamid Family, of Circus Impresarios, producing clown and historian Kenny Dodd, George Scott, who presented Scott’s Unrideable Mule for more than 25 years, and for the first time ever, an animal — Barnum’s famous elephant Jumbo. 22nd Annual Scramble for SPARCC Golf Tournament
Registration begins at 11:15 am with a shotgun start at 12:30 pm. at TPC Prestancia, 4409 Tournament Players Drive. The tournament is a the four-person scramble. A light lunch will be provided, and buffet dinner with beer or wine is included in the ticket price. Entry fee is $165 per person, and participants may sign up individually or as a team. Looking into the Crystal Ball
Takes place from 6 to 9 p.m. at Selby Public Library, 1331 First St. More than two dozen local restaurants and food vendors will offer samplings. There will be more than 30 continuous performances, along with intuitive readers plus exhibits featuring artists, authors and more. Proceeds benefit Selby Library’s youth programs. The Sarasota Arts & Antiques Show
Runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday at Sarasota Municipal Auditorium, 801 N. Tamiami Trail. This year’s show features 45 dealers from across the country with fine antique furniture, silver, bronzes and antique and estate jewelry. Ringling Bridge Run
Starts at 7:30 a.m. at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, 777 N. Tamiami Trail. The four-mile run draws thousands of participants each year. A one-mile fun run that starts at 8:30 a.m. Registration is $25 for adults; $15 for children; $60 for families. Visit sarasotaymca.org/ringlingbridgerun.
All Trails Hike
Starts at 8 a.m. at Oscar Scherer State Park, 1843 S. Tamiami Trail. Choose from 12 miles of paths and trails to explore. The most popular trail is the Green Trail that winds around Lake Osprey. After hiking, enjoy lunch until 2 p.m. There will also be music from noon to 2 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults; free for children under 16. Call 483-5956.
Sarasota Winter Fine Art Festival
