Do you know the recipe to Piggie Pie?
While she read the children's story "Piggie Pie!" by Margie Palatini, Braden River Elementary teacher Heather Dragon spelled out the recipe for a witch's favorite meal, which consists of one eyeball of a fly; two shakes of a rattlesnakes rattle; three belly hairs of a possum and eight plump pigs.
"There's only one thing I need," Dragon said to students in her best witch cackle. "Piggie Pie."
Students snacked on pizza and sipped hot cocoa on the floor mats scattered throughout the Braden River classroom during Winter Wonderland, Jan. 13.
Other than story time, the pajama party also offered literacy-focused games, such as rhyming, crafts, snacks and other family-friendly activities.
