Braden River senior Alex Salguero was named to the first-team Class 7A all-state football team.

1 — Out-of-Door Academy pitcher Max Munroe was one of 10 pitchers and the only one from Florida named to the 15U Perfect Game Tournament All-American Team.

2 — Braden River offensive lineman Alex Salguero was named to the first-team, Class 7A, all-state football team.

3 — LaDazhia Williams scored 17 points and added six rebounds and four steals as the Lakewood Ranch High girls basketball team beat rival Sarasota 54-31 Jan. 5.

4 — Lakewood Ranch sophomore Faith Schyck scored the lone goal during the Lady Mustangs' 1-0 victory against Venice Jan. 5.

5 — Ricky Yanez and Drew Butler both scored a goal in the Lakewood Ranch High boys soccer team’s 2-0 victory against Mariner Jan. 6.
