The start of the new year is a time when many people try self-improvement on for size, and that applies to us here in the Arts + Entertainment world, too.

For the latest installment of our video series, “Come At Me, Sarasota,” in which Alex Mahadevan challenges local athletes, restaurants, businesses and other individuals to competitions in their areas of expertise, we thought it was only fitting to take a New-Year’s approach.

This month, we challenged local yoga instructor and life coach, Margie Pargie. When she’s not out and about, striking yoga poses around Sarasota landmarks, she can be found teaching private lessons and helping clients learn about health and sustainability. Although he’s convinced there’s not much room for improvement, Mahadevan agreed to meet up with Margie Pargie on Lido Beach to learn about yoga, meditation and finding his inner peace.
