Lost Property: A man reported he lost his wallet and money clip near the Lazy Lobster. The wallet and clip contained $80 cash, a Social Security card and several credit cards.

FENDER BENDER
2:06 p.m. — Intersection of Gulfside Road and Gulf of Mexico Drive
Traffic Accident: A motorist drove into the back of a car stopped on Gulf of Mexico Drive for traffic, causing minor damage to both vehicles. 

JAN. 9

RELIGIOUS RITUAL
9:42 a.m. — 6800 block of GMD
Suspicious Circumstance: A condo tenant noticed crosses written in the doorjambs of the unit he leases. He thought the crosses were written with feces and wiped them away before police arrived. Police determined the crosses were not drawn from feces and learned there’s a religious ritual that labels the crosses as a religious blessing. A previous tenant likely drew them.

CONSTRUCTION HALT
10:18 a.m. — 600 block of Ranger Lane
Code Enforcement: Police told two workers they can’t perform construction work on Sundays, per town ordinance.

FAMILY TIES
10:31 a.m. — 3100 block of GMD
Trespassing: A woman told police a condo she keeps an eye on for her neighbors when they are out of town was occupied by a couple. The condo owner told police no one should be in the house. It was discovered that the owner’s son’s ex-girlfriend’s brother was using the apartment. The man claimed he and his wife had permission from the owner and were eradicating the condo of mold at the owner’s request. The couple agreed to leave.
