Runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Potter Building, Sarasota County Fairgrounds, 3000 Ringling Blvd. The show features vendors, reptile pets, supplies and live animal seminars. Admission is $10 for adults; $5 for children 5 to 12; free for ages 4 and under.

Sarasota Lionfish Derby
Begins at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium, 1600 Ken Thompson Parkway. The third annual Sarasota Lionfish Derby continues the fight against the invasive lionfish. The event includes the captain’s meeting Friday, fishing on Saturday and a weigh-in Sunday. Registration is $120 per team. The weigh-in is free to attend. Visit mote.org/lionfishderby.

Splashin’ Saturdays
Runs from 10 a.m. to noon at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, 900 Palm Ave. This marks the final Splashin’ Saturday of the summer. Families are invited to enjoy water activities, waterslides and games under the banyans and around the waterfall of the Ann Goldstein Children’s Rainforest Garden.
