Bird Key author triples the smiles

Bird Key resident Al “Mifflin” Lowe recently published his third children’s book, “Little Dog, Big Bark. Big Dog, Little Bark.”

The book is available on Amazon for $9.95 and can be purchased for the same price through AmazonSmile, which will donate a portion of the proceeds to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Lowe will triple what Amazon donates.

“There’s hardly anything sadder than seeing a mistreated animal — dog, cat horse, anything,” Lowe said. “That’s one reason my wife and I adopted a rescue dog, Pookie, who instantly made himself an amusing, integral part of our lives. The ASPCA does great work helping make life better for all creatures — canine, feline, equine, human and otherwise.”
