Hockey legend to attend business luncheon

The Tampa Bay Lightning's Phil Esposito will visit Lakewood Ranch next week.

National Hockey League Hall-of-Famer and Tampa Bay Lightning founder Phil Esposito will join the Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance as a special guest at its July 28 membership luncheon.

The lunch will feature a presentation by James Nozar, CEO of Strategic Property Partners, a joint venture between Cascade Investment and Tampa Bay Lightning owner Jeff Vinik. It owns or controls 60 acres in downtown Tampa and has a phased development project intended to create an urban, mixed-use waterfront district of office, residential, hotel and retail uses.

The presentation, “Building a City — Transforming Downtown Tampa,” will run from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 27, at the Fete Ballroom at Polo Grill and Bar, 10670 Boardwalk Loop.

Cost is $25 for members by July 27 or $35 for members after July 25 and for non members.
