Booze to go ... quickly
1800 block of Lakewood Ranch Boulevard
Petit theft: A man went into a liquor store at about 5:20 p.m. He spoke with an employee and then selected three bottles of alcohol. He walked back up to the front of the store, told the cashier, “Ma’am, have a nice day,” and bolted out the door, into his truck and fled east on State Road 64. He has not been captured but his prints were lifted form the door and a customer took a photo of the truck. The value of the stolen bottles was $159.97.

Man blanks about gun

Lost property: A man called the Sheriff’s Office because he couldn’t find his handgun. He said he carries it on his person every day, so he’s not sure where he could have lost it.

Birthday blues
2900 block of 6th Street East
Information only: A woman called the Sheriff’s Office to complain about her neighbor playing music too loudly. When the deputy arrived he reported he could only slightly hear the music from the street. When he questioned the neighbor, he learned that the man was having a birthday party for his young daughter and had already turned the music down at the woman’s request. The woman remained confrontational when the deputy told her there was no breach of peace and asked to speak to his highest commanding officer.

1100 block of Commerce Boulevard
Information only: While on patrol, a deputy noticed two vehicles at a business after hours. The two men were loading up pallets from the building in their vehicles. One man said he had permission from the business owner to take any of the broken pallets. The deputy attempted to contact the owner, but since it was a weekend, could not get him on the phone. The deputy did notice the pallets the two men had taken were broken, but the men agreed to put back the 12 pallets and left in his presence.
