Gecko's 24th Anniversary Party and Barbecue

SATURDAY, JUNE 11

15th Annual St. Armands Circle Craft Festival

10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at St. Armands Circle, 411 St. Armands Circle

This two-day craft event returns to St. Armands, where festivalgoers can browse works by artists from around the state. Crafts include jewelry, pottery, plant holders, soaps and more. Continues Sunday, June 12.

 

Saturday Symphony 1: 'Tour de Force'

In its first week, the annual Sarasota Music Festival features 'Tour de Force,' with conductor Larry Rachleff and Noah Bendix-Balgley, a former festival student and current concertmaster of the Berlin Philharmonic.

1st Annual Sea to Shore Bestie Brunch Benefitting Mote Marine Laboratory

Hitched and Honey and Sunnyday Mercantile host a three-course gourmet brunch benefitting Mote Marine Laboratory. The brunch is timed to celebrate World Oceans Day and National Best Friends Day, both of which fall on June 8th, and will take place on Keating Center Balcony, which overlooks the pristine waters of New Pass Sound.

'You're a Grand Old Flag'

Presented by the Stars and Stripes Foundation, the Pops Orchestra and Gloria Musicae, this free Flag Day event returns to Patriot Plaza. Last year's event drew 2,000 people. Event includes a 90-minute concert by the Pops Orchestra, choral selections by Gloria Musicae and a formal flag retirement and retreat ceremony.

 

Drag Queen Bingo Bonanza

LDG Productions presents an evening of gender-bending hilarity. Beneva Fruitville hosts this popular Drag Queen Bingo Bonanza featuring Tamiami Trails and other special guests for an event packed with live performances, prizes, surprises and, of course, Bingo.

Presented by Visit Sarasota County, the 11th annual event features 67 local restaurants, which will offer prix-fixe dinner menus for $29 and $15 for lunch.

Cards Against McCurdy's

$25 per team; one-drink minimum; $3 for spectators

McCurdy's is hosting a summer-long Cards Against Humanity Tournament, featuring teams of four to six competitors vying for $1,500 in prizes. Each night of the tournament will include a special guest judge. Qualifying rounds take place June 14, July 12 and Aug. 9. Championship takes place in late September.

Shamrock and Edible Sarasota team up once again for the annual Summer Chef Jam series. $25 gets you three small plates cooked on a charcoal grill from the night's featured local chef, as well as bottomless pints of Florida craft beers. Sample food from nine different restaurants throughout the series. 'Come Fly With Me!' The Sammy Cahn Songbook

2016 Summer Circus Spectacular
