11:10 a.m. — 4300 block of Chatham Drive
Vandalism: A man reported that someone keyed the driver side of his silver Buick. He was not having issues with anyone and had no idea why someone would damage his vehicle. There were no cameras that could have captured the incident.
Weapon of Choice
4:02 p.m. — 500 block of Bay Isles Parkway
Disturbance: A man reported that as he was leaving a shopping center and removing his handicap tag, he noticed an elderly man gesturing with his cane and shouting about him taking the handicap space. While the driver was trying to explain he had the proper tag, the man began tapping the roof of his car with his cane. The man then entered a vehicle and began following the caller, who told officers the man yelled at him through his car window, then stopped his car and shook his cane as he passed. He told police the incident made him nervous and uncomfortable.

12:20 a.m. — 700 block of Broadway
Suspicious Person: While responding to reports of a person sleeping on a public dock, police found a man pacing the area in question. The man told officers the storm had forced him to come ashore, and he was unable to get back to his boat. Since the storm had passed, the man rowed his dinghy back to his boat.

7:10 p.m. — 2800 block of GMD
Code Enforcement: Officers responded to reports of a man illegally grilling on the beach. When police arrived, the noted the man was cooking three pieces of chicken on a tiny grill. The man was issued a warning.
Long Ride
10:44 a.m. — 700 block of Bayport Way
Identity Theft: A woman called police to report that an unknown person had made illegal charges on her credit card. The suspect spent $68.86 with the ride service Uber.
Trapped
5:41 p.m. — 1400 block of GMD
Rescue: A woman reported that her live-in partner was missing. An officer heard someone inside an elevator and pried the door open to find the missing man, alive and well.
Unidentified Lighting Object
12:19 a.m. — 900 block of Spanish Drive North
Suspicious Circumstance: A woman called officers in response to an unknown bright light shining at the end of her block. An officer noted that the light was an optical illusion created by the light from a neighbor's house reflecting from wind and rain from the storm.

7:30 a.m. — 500 block of Sanctuary Drive
Disturbance: A process server called police to report that a gate guard would not let him onto a condominium property to serve papers to a resident. An officer informed the security guard he could be considered an obstruction if he did not let the man in, and he complied.

Disturbance: A woman called police to report that a man kicked a seagull and broke its wing. When confronted by officers, the man said he was protecting his food and had instinctually shooed the bird away with his foot and mistakenly made contact. Suspicious Vehicle: A man reported that he saw another man sleeping at the wheel of his vehicle with the motor running. When police made contact with the man, he said he had fallen asleep while waiting for his girlfriend.
