‘Boats on Main’ Downtown Block Party
Runs from 6 to 11 p.m. on Main Street and Lemon Avenue.
Meet the racing teams behind more than 20 of the boats competing in the Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix. The event includes vendors and live music, with band Luna Blue performing rock classics. Liberty Day Regatta and Family Festival
Runs from 1 to 8 p.m. at Sarasota Sailing Squadron, 1717 Ken Thompson Parkway. Spend an afternoon on Sarasota Bay with a water slide, ice cream sundaes, a dessert potluck, pig roast and live music. The event concludes with front-row seats to the fireworks display over Sarasota Bay. Admission is $7 for adults; $5 for children under 12. Ice cream is $3. Visit sarasotasailingsquadron.org.
All American Barbecue and Independence Day Celebration
Runs from 6 to 10 p.m. at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, 811 Palm Ave. Explore the gardens, and enjoy barbecue, craft cocktails, live music and the fireworks display over Sarasota Bay. Admission is $25 for members; $35 for nonmembers; $10 for children ages 4 to 11; free for children 3 and younger. VIP tickets are available for $150. Call 366-5731.
Siesta Key 26th Annual Fourth of July Fireworks Display
Starts at 9 p.m. at Siesta Key Beach, 948 Beach Road. Fireworks are launched just north of the Siesta Beach volleyball courts. Admission is free. Call 349-3800.

Liberty Litter Cleanup
Runs from 7 to 9 a.m. at Lido, South Lido and Siesta Key beaches. Sarasota County needs volunteers to help clean up six of the July 4 venues that are used most during the festivities. All volunteers should report to the site captain at their cleaning location. Call 861-5000.

Patriotic Spectacular
Starts at 4:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 104 Pineapple Ave. Celebrate Independence Day with the Patriotic Spectacular featuring the Gloria Musicae Singers performing American classics.
