FRIDAY, July 1

The Sarasota American 11- and 12-year-old All-Stars will return to the field for their second game of the five-team double elimination Florida District 16 Little League All-Star Tournament, at Twin Lakes Park, 6700 Clark Road. Play will continue throughout the weekend with the top two teams advancing to the championship game July 3. 

SATURDAY, July 2

It’s time to lace up your sneakers for the New Balance Sarasota 5K Run/Walk at 7 a.m. The free race, which is open to participants of all ages and skill levels, runs through Sarasota across the South Bridge onto Siesta Key and to Crescent Beach Marina and back. 

SATURDAY, July 2-SUNDAY, July 3

The Sarasota Powerboat Grand Prix returns to Lido Beach this weekend for the 32nd year. Racing will begin at 9 a.m. both days and will continue throughout the day. Admission is free and open to the public. 

TUESDAY, July 5-FRIDAY, July 8

Sarasota Christian School volleyball coaches will teach the fundamentals of passing, setting, hitting and serving during this weeklong camp for girls entering grades 1-12. The camp will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for grades 1-5; 4-6 p.m. for grades 6-8; and 6-8 p.m. for grades 9-12.
