Musical Flea Market
Runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Geldbart Auditorium of the Selby Public Library, 1331 First St. The Sarasota Music Archive seeks donations of records, CDs, DVDs, books, sheet music, posters art, and musical instruments. Vintage and Collectibles Fair
Runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday at Sarasota Municipal Auditorium, 801 N. Tamiami Trail. Exhibitors will display antiques, books, collectibles, linens and more. Admission is $3 for adults and free for children. Visit srqauditorium.com.

Books & Coffee
Starts at 10:30 a.m. at Selby Public Library, 1331 First St.
Featured poetry includes “Life on Mars” and “Ordinary Light” by poet Tracy K. Smith as well as poems “Looking for the Gulf Motel” and “Matters of the Sea/Cosas Del Mar” by Richard Blanco commemorating a new era in U.S.-Cuba relations. Admission is free. Call 861-5000.

Wednesday, March 9 
Walk to End Alzheimer’s Committee Rally
Starts at 11 a.m. at Waldemere Medical Plaza of Sarasota Memorial Hospital, 1921 Waldemere St. The planning committee for the 2016 Walk to End Alzheimer’s of Sarasota welcomes members of the community interested in helping. The Conflict in Syria
Runs from 2 to 4 p.m. at The First Church, 104 S. Pineapple Ave.  Dr. Nabeel Khoury will present this seminar on behalf of the Sarasota Institute of Lifetime Learning. Tickets are $35. Visit sillsarasota.org.

Saturday, March 12  
Honey Bee Festival 
Starts at 10 a.m. at Sweetgrass Farms, 8350 Carolina St. Sweetgrass Farms and Sarasota Honey Company partnered with the Suncoast Beekeepers Association for a fundraiser to benefit the creation of the Florida Honey Bee Research Lab to Save the Bees. There will be a you-pick strawberry patch, craft fair, live entertainment and educational booths. Admission is $5 for adults and free for children. Leashwalking class
Starts at 1 p.m. at Cat Depot, 2542 17th St. Learn the basic skills to introduce cats and kittens to walking on a harness. Free to participate. Visit catdepot.org.

Pineapple Antique Show
Runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.. on Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday at the Sarasota Municipal Auditorium, 801 N. Tamiami Trail. The Rotary Club of Sarasota Sunrise presents the 40th Annual Pineapple Antique Show. The annual fundraiser has been benefiting local charities since 1976 and features American and English antiques, fine art and jewelry, Asian art and antiques, crystal, china, pottery and porcelains. Sarasota Spring Fine Arts Festival
Runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, on Gulfstream Avenue and Main Street. Choose from creations in painting and sculpture, photographic styles and glass and ceramic artwork plus handmade one-of-a-kind jewelry and more. Sunday, March 13
UCP Chocolate Sundae
Runs from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Michael’s On East, 1212 East Ave. The 14th Annual United Cerebral Palsy Chocolate Sundae and Food Festival includes chocolate delights from restaurants with local chefs presenting their signature chocolate specialties. Jazz in the Park 
Runs from noon to 5 p.m. at Phillippi Estate Park, 5500 S. Tamiami Trail. Kick off the 36th annual Sarasota Jazz Festival, a weeklong music event featuring jazz greats from all over the country. Admission and parking are free. Visit jazzclubsarasota.org. 

Thursday, March 10 
Brown Bag Concert Series 
From noon to 1 p.m. at Phillippi Estate Park, 5500 S. Tamiami Trail. Bring your lunch and a chair or blanket and enjoy a wide variety of musical performances. The series is every Thursday through March 31. Admission and parking are free. Call 316-1309.


Health 

Saturday, March 5
360 Degree Health Charity Boot Camp
Runs from 9 to 10 a.m. at Real Fitness Sarasota, 4728 S. Tamiami Trail. Sweat it out while helping  a local family in need. Parents are encouraged to bring their children to work out with them.
