Pulte prepares for expansion

Pulte Group is finalizing plans for its newest community in Lakewood Ranch.

Spokeswoman Sarah Garlick said Pulte still must close on the land, but the company has completed its due diligence on the 321-acre parcel within Waterside, Lakewood Ranch’s first major residential community in Sarasota County. 

Pulte expects to build 246 single family homes as well as an amenity center with a pool, clubhouse and fitness center. Floor plans will range from 2,500 to 3,500 square feet and prices will start in the $700,000s. 

The community will surround a large lake.

“We’ll have our grand opening in spring 2017,” Garlick said. “We were immediately drawn to the area because of the extensive lake views. It’s going to be a very walkable environment and it’s super closer to Sarasota.”

Pulte expects to break ground on the project in about five months.
