Petit theft: A woman was given a new coffee maker as a gift while she was at work. The woman could not take the item home right away because of its size and because she uses public transportation. She didn’t want to take it on the bus. She left the machine in the manager’s office for a few days. Another employee took the coffee maker and then denied stealing it. Later, the other employee put an old, different model of coffee maker into the box and claimed it was the one she had taken. The original stolen coffee maker is valued at $200.

Livin' loud
23800 block of 53rd Avenue East
Disturbing the peace: A man started playing country music at about 8:15 p.m. at a level that disturbed his neighbor’s attempt to enjoy a movie. According to the report, the neighbor said the bass from the music was so loud that it drowned out the dialogue of the movie. The music continued for several hours before the neighbor called the Sheriff’s Office. The deputy arrived at the man’s house at 11:15 p.m. and could clearly hear the music coming from the man’s residence. The deputy was unable to gain access to the man’s front door because the front door was locked, and he did not answer his phone. The deputy documented the incident.

A real blowhard

Disturbance: A man was upset because the noise from the road repairs outside his home was loud. He started an air horn in front of his home to be more loud than the repair workers. The resident went back in his house, and then the horn fell over and stopped sounding. The man believed the workers had come on his property so he went back outside with a rifle and yelled at them to stay off his property. The Sheriff’s Office was called and the man admitted to his actions but stated the firearm was not loaded and he had no intention of harming anyone. He voluntarily allowed the deputy to remove the firearms from his home until he was sober.
