Thunder avenges district loss

The Out-of-Door Academy baseball team beat Indian Rocks Christian 1-0 in nine innings of district action March 8. 

Brady Moore led off the bottom of the ninth inning with a double. Moore later came around to score on a bunt single by Cooper Newlin and a throwing error on the play. Moore and Parke Phillips both went 2-for-4 with a double. 

Cameron Smalley pitched six shutout innings, allowing two hits and two walks while striking out two. Duncan Cappar came on in relief, allowing one walk and striking out one over the final three innings. 

Indian Rocks handed the Thunder its only district loss of the season, a 3-2 decision, Feb. 25. 

ODA returns to action at 7 p.m. March 10 versus Admiral Farragut Academy.
