Eight students receive Andrew Monroe scholarships

The Andrew Monroe Memorial Scholarship 5K awarded a total of $3,500 in scholarships to eight recipients during the Riverview High School Soccer Awards ceremony Feb. 29, at the Riverview High School Performing Arts Auditorium.
Following his death in a 2011 car crash, Monroe’s family set up a scholarship fund in his name to help future RHS soccer athletes attend and complete college.
To qualify, each applicant must submit an essay explaining how they display the traits that defined Monroe.
