Carter and the rest of William H. Bashaw Elementary spent March 18 jumping rope in the parking lot as part of the school's annual fundraiser, Jump for Fun. The fundraiser is the biggest one the school hosts each year.
Students asked relatives and friends for donations, which benefit the fine arts programs at Bashaw, such as music, art and technology. Teachers of those subjects will decide how to spend the funds students collected.
Event Coordinator Alison Kendzior said Bashaw students raised $5,800, which is about the same as last year.
