Reality check
4:24 p.m. — 1900 block of Harbourside Drive
Fraud: A man reported that he received a fraudulent check, possibly related to an item he was selling on Craigslist. He told the officer he’d contacted his bank, which told him the check was not valid, and would destroy the check.

MARCH 11

House call
3:32 p.m. — 500 block of Bay Isles Road
Property found: An officer retrieved two driver licenses and drove to the residence of the owners to return them.

Property fights
4:03 p.m. — 500 block of Ranger Lane
Public service: An officer was asked to stand by while a woman retrieved property from a residence. She had left various items on the lawn that her estranged husband was supposed to pick up from another residence. The husband said he was angry that she was not sticking to their pick-up arrangement.

Stoner sight
2:56 p.m. — 6900 block of Poinsetta Avenue
Disturbance: An officer responded to a disturbance and noticed drug paraphernalia in plain sight, then found several small bags of marijuana. The suspect was notified to appear in court for possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.

9:41 a.m. — Intersection of Longboat Drive East and Russell Street
Fire/Miscellaneous: A tree-trimming service accidentally caused a power surge, resulting in several lines to coming down in the street and surrounding properties. An officer temporarily blocked access to the affected area.
