Mary Lou Johnson will be featured in New York’s prestigious Artexpo April 14 to 17.

“I was toying with the idea, but not really seriously,” Johnson said. “I just sent in some questions and two days later, the guy called me and said, ‘Congratulations, you’ve been accepted.’ I said I hadn’t even submitted any pictures yet, and he said my website was on my email and everyone loved my pictures.”

The expo features more than 400 artists from around the world.

“I’m very excited to be showing outside of my close area here,” Johnson said.

+11-year-old to serenade Longboat Island Chapel

Longboat Island Chapel’s Easter service will feature an “Amazing Grace” solo by 11-year-old Brenna Holman, who is visiting her grandmother, church member Jan Holman.

The Rev. Vince Carroll will also baptize Brenna during the service.

The fifth grader lives in Macon, Mo. and plays piano and flute, is an avid swimmer and is on her school’s basketball team.
