1. THURSDAY, March 24

The Out-of-Door Academy boys and girls tennis teams will close out the regular season when the Thunder hosts Riverview at 4 p.m. The matches will serve as tune-ups for the Class 1A-District 9 tournament, which begins March 30. 

2. SATURDAY, March 26

Forty-two seniors from 12 high schools across Manatee and Sarasota Counties, including Braden River and Lakewood Ranch, compete in the Sarasota-Manatee Boys & Girls All-Star Basketball Games. The girls game will tip-off at 3:30 p.m., in Sarasota High’s new gymnasium, followed by the boys game at 5:30 p.m. 

3. MONDAY, March 28

Some of the state’s top baseball talent will be on display during the second annual Taylor Emmons Memorial Classic, which begins at 9 a.m., at The Out-of-Door Academy. Eight teams from Clearwater to Naples, including the Thunder, will compete in the tournament, which runs through March 31.

4. TUESDAY, March 29 

The defending Class 3A state championship Lakewood Ranch girls tennis team, now competing in Class 4A, will take the first step in its postseason journey when it opens Class 4A-District 8 tournament play at 8 a.m., at Bath and Racquet Club, in Sarasota.
