April 23

Turn down for what?
11:33 a.m. — Jewfish Key
Noise Disturbance: A man reported that music coming from the Jewfish Key sandbar was too loud. The man playing the music apologized and said he was unaware the music was audible from so far away.

Back-up call
11:46 p.m. — 200 block of Sands Point Road
Property Damage: A hotel security guard reported that a guest had backed his van over a curb into a flower bed, in which it became stuck. The driver then left his vehicle. When an officer contacted the van’s owner, he said he would handle any damages and had family members help push the vehicle out of the flower bed.

Sail away
2:26 p.m. — Sister Key
Boat Theft: A dinghy broke free from a man’s sailboat during the night and drifted toward Sister Keys. The man’s friend told him that a larger green boat intercepted the small vessel and towed it south. Police were unable to locate the suspect vessel.

April 24

Sandbar fight
6:10 p.m. — Jewfish Key
Disturbance: A man told police he fought another man on the Jewfish Key sandbar over comments that man made about a woman. The other man was seen running away onto Jewfish Key. Police could not locate the suspect, and the man who spoke with officers said he had transported the suspect to the island and did not know how he would get home.

Purse pursuit
2:17 a.m. — 500 block of Bayview Drive
Lost or Missing Property: A woman called police because she was unable to find her purse and keys. After driving home from a restaurant, she called the eatery to see if she had left the items there, but the business was closed. An officer searched her car and residence and located the purse and keys in a chair by her pool. The items were covered in dew, as if they had been sitting there for a while.

April 25

Fowl play?
12 p.m. — 7200 block of Lands End
Disturbance: A caller reported that two people in a small boat were attempting to harm ducks by beating them with a paddle. Police were unable to find the suspects or any injured ducks.

You Rang?
3:49 p.m. — 2100 block of GMD
Abandoned 911 Call: Police responded to a condo for a 911 hang-up. Two men told officers they had accidentally dialed 911 instead of 1911 to access the lobby.
