THURSDAY, May 19

With the regular season only three months away, the Sarasota High football team will see where it stands when the Sailors face Naples Gulf Coast in their spring game at 7 p.m. After seeing several of its top players transfer in the offseason, the game will allow Sarasota to evaluate its rising young talent.

SATURDAY, May 21

The Cardinal Mooney football team will close out the spring season when it hosts Lemon Bay at 6:30 p.m. The Cougars and Manta Rays both reached the regional quarterfinals last season and look to pick up where they left off at the end of the 2015 season.

SATURDAY, May 21

Another fun-filled day of racing will be on tap when Nathan Benderson Park hosts the second Sarasota Stand-Up Paddleboard and RUN 5K. The event, which benefits Operation Second Chance, begins at 8 a.m.

SUNDAY, May 22

The Sarasota Storm Tri Club will host its 11th annual club race, beginning at 8 a.m., at Nathan Benderson Park. There will be separate sprint distance triathlons for men and women, as well as, an inaugural Island Mile — a one-mile open water swim around the park.
