Deputies were summoned to a home in Parrish when a homeowner called because of an unwelcome visitor. The

Copperstone homeowner heard a knock on his front door. When he looked outside, there was a large alligator hitting his tail against the door. A trapper was contacted to remove the beast, who was measured at 7 feet, 8 inches. Deputies helped lift the gator into the truck. The photos of the gator arrest were posted on the law enforcement’s Facebook page, on which many neighbors commented that they too have had gators on their property in that area.

Petit theft: A deputy was called to a store because of shoplifting. A loss prevention officer caught a woman taking a price tag off a shirt before putting it on her daughter. Her daughter also put on a pair of sunglasses. The pair then went to self checkout, where the mother paid for 12 items but not the items her daughter was wearing.

Text appears to be grave incident

Suspicious incidents: A man contacted the Sheriff’s Office after getting a strange text from a number he didn’t know. The text read “Got rid of the body, good luck brother.” The deputy investigated the phone number from the text and contacted the subscriber, who then released the address the number was attached to, a woman in Fort Myers. The deputy was also able to get the coordinates at which the text message was sent in Lee County. The coordinates were investigated and nothing suspicious was found.

Suspicious cloggers
8700 block of Old Tampa Road
Suspicious incidents: A woman called the Sheriff’s Office because three unknown male teenagers jumped over the fence of a storage facility, went into the bathroom and clogged the toilet with toilet paper. There was no damage to the toilet but the woman wanted the incident documented and also had video footage of the boys.
