Sarasota Football Final: 11.18.16

Riverview, the last Sarasota-area football team standing, was bounced from the playoffs by Dr. Phillips, 21-0. 

The Rams defense held the Panthers to less than 300 yards of offense, but their offense could not muster much of anything all night. The team turned the ball over three times in its first four possessions, and five times overall. 

Riverview senior quarterback Mike Welcer left the game late in the first half with an ankle injury and did not return. 

The Rams finished the season 9-2, the school's best season in 10 years.
