THURSDAY, Dec. 1

The Out-of-Door Academy girls soccer team is red-hot, winning its first four games by a combined score of 27-3. It will look to continue its great start against Sarasota Christian at 5 p.m. at home. Junior Abby LaGasse and freshman Natalie Gorji lead the Thunder attack.

SATURDAY, Dec. 3

The Lakewood Ranch girls basketball team has a home matchup against Lakewood at 7:30 p.m. Lakewood beat Gibbs 102-16 to open its season, so this should be a challenge for the Mustangs. Lakewood Ranch will need players like senior Aleah Robinson and junior Emma Fazio to have strong performances.

SUNDAY, Dec. 4

The U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team will close out the 2016 Nike International Friendlies and U.S. Soccer Academy Winter Showcase at Premier Sports Campus with a 7:30 p.m. match against Brazil. Will Pulisic, a cousin of budding U.S. superstar Christian Pulisic, is the U17 team’s goaltender.

TUESDAY, Dec. 6

The Lakewood Ranch boys soccer team takes on Sarasota at 7:30 p.m. at home. The Mustangs opened the season 5-0. Senior forward Ricky Yanez and junior goaltender Josh Lavieri have come up big for the Mustangs in the young season. When these two teams played on Nov. 10, Lakewood Ranch won 7-0. This should be another fun one for Mustangs' fans to watch.
