FRIDAY, Sept. 2 

Coming off its season-opening victory at Booker, the Riverview High football team will return home to face local powerhouse Venice in a non-district battle. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. 

FRIDAY, Sept. 2 

A pair of crosstown rivals will collide on the gridiron when the Sarasota High football team hosts Booker at 7:30 p.m. The Sailors will look to defend their home turf while the Tornadoes will be seeking their first win of the season. 

SATURDAY, Sept. 3-SUNDAY, Sept. 4

The Sarasota Sailing Squadron will host its 70th Annual Labor Day Regatta, featuring sailors from across the United States and Canada. An anticipated 300 competitors, ranging in age from 8 to 80, are expected to participate in regatta festivities, beginning at 9 a.m. Sept. 3 and 10 a.m. Sept. 4. 

SATURDAY, Sept. 3-SUNDAY, Sept. 4

If you’ve ever wanted to learn the basics of rowing, then Learn to Row 101 is for you. The program, which is open to all rowers, ages 12 and up, will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. both days, at Nathan Benderson Park. Cost is $150.
