Sept. 10

Wobbly driver

10:51 p.m. – 3158 GMD

DUI: Adam Dean Carter, 41, Parrish was charged with driving under the influence and issued a written warning for failure to maintain lane control after his gray 1990 Isuzu truck was reportedly seen by a police officer swerving over the line repeatedly while traveling 20 mph to 35 mph. Carter failed three field sobriety tests, according to the report and registered a blood alcohol level of 2.99 on the field breath alcohol test. When asked whether he was OK to drive, Carter said yes. His vehicle was towed. 

 

Loud pool party

10:30 p.m. – 5330 GMD

Noise disturbance: Several people were in the pool area talking loudly when an officer arrived. When told they were bothering a neighbor, they apologized and went to their unit without incident.

 

First absence

2:19 a.m. – 201 Putter Lane

Home burglar alarm: Officer checked and home was secure. Case closed.

 

Sept. 9

Civil breakup

4:20 p.m. – 5460 GMD, Longboat Key Police Department

Public service: A 63-year-old woman returned several bagged items from her truck along with an engagement ring and keys to her 56-year-old former fiancé. Exchange went without incident as both subjects were civil, according to the report. Case closed.

 

No one home

2:10 p.m.  – 601 Putter Lane

Home burglar alarm: For the second day in a row, officer reported residence secured and no keyholder responded to alarm. Case closed.

 

Full voicemail

7:25 p.m. – 775 Longboat Club Road, unit 103

Business burglary alarm: Security agent told responding officer he had checked and everything was secure. Could not notify owners because voicemail was full. Case closed.

 

Vanished

7:10 a.m. – 1511 GMD

Suspicious vehicle: Vehicle reportedly in driveway was gone when officer arrived. Case closed.

 

Sept. 7

You’re fired

7:28 p.m. – 3578 Fair Oaks Way

Public service: Responding officer was asked to escort a key holder to the home from the premises, leaving the key, after a small carpet was taken from the dumpster in a home garage where construction was underway.  

A garage camera was obstructed by a paper towel., according to the police report The owner said he was relieving the key holder of her duties. Case closed.

 

In and out

10:08 a.m. – 3531 Fair Oaks Lane

Home burglar alarm: Officer checking the alarm spoke to a contractor who advised owner had been in and out all morning. Unable to reach owner. Case closed.

 

Sept. 6

Live wire

1:54 p.m. – GMD-Harbourside Drive

Downed wire: An officer blocked the sidewalk area after answering call about a downed wire. Florida Power & Light arrived to repair the wire. Case closed.
