Fifth Annual Salute to Business Awards

28th Annual Fruitville Grove Pumpkin Fest
Runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Fruitville Grove, 7410 Fruitville Road. Enjoy hay rides, pony rides, pumpkin painting, face painting, mini train rides and a petting zoo. Master Gardeners 11th annual Plant Sale
Runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Twin Lakes Park, 6700 Clark Road. Sarasota County Master Gardeners will be on-hand to provide gardening tips and help with plant selection. Admission is free. Gardenfest
Runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Sarasota Garden Club, 1131 Boulevard of the Arts. Thousands of Florida-friendly plants will be for sale. There will be workshops led by Sarasota Garden Club members. Admission is free. Visit sarasotagardenclub.org.
Taste of St. Armands Circle
Runs from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at St. Armands Circle Park. Tasty treats from more than 15 of the restaurants on St. Armands Circle will be featuring their most mouth watering dishes. Tickets are $45 in advance and $55 day of event. Call 388-1554.

Global Cardboard Challenge
Runs from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the Out-of-Door Academy, Siesta Key Campus, 444 Reid St. The day is a global day of play celebrating ingenuity and creativity. All school-aged children are invited to build arcade games using cardboard, recycled materials and their imagination. Children will spend a few hours building and have an hour to play each other’s arcade games. Free to participate. Breakfast is available for $5 and fun passes to play games are $5. Visit oda.edu.
