It was easy to imagine what a Friday night on Sarasota Bay would have been like for John and Mable Ringling on March 31 at the Ca’ d’Zan.
Watching guests sip wine on the elegant terrace as the sun set over Sarasota Bay was like stepping into a time machine and seeing what the luxurious Ringling parties of the 1920s must have been like.
Guests at the 5th annual Wine Walk to Ca’ d’Zan enjoyed six wine and food stations (seven for VIP guests), all centered around the theme “Red or White?” during their stroll to the Ringling’s Venetian Gothic-style winter residence. Along the way, they encountered elegant velvet couches, chandeliers hanging from banyan trees and even an aerialist perched atop a revolving hoop soaring high above their heads.
Event-goers also got the chance to take self-guided tours of the first floor of the mansion then dance like nobody was watching as the sun went down and DJ Imminent’s dance floor got more crowded.
All the wine — over $20,000 worth — was provided by Total Wine & More, and all the proceeds from the event went towards the Ca’ d’Zan Preservation Fund.
