Miami Gardens native Flo Rida brought his house to Lakewood Ranch on April 1 at The Ritz-Carlton Members Golf Club.
Firefly Gala, an annual fundraiser for Forty Carrots Family Center, sold out at 585 guests this year. Festivities began with a lively cocktail hour that featured temporary tattoos, a photo booth and a silent auction table along with an “online super silent auction.”
During dinner, guests took part in a live auction led by international champion auctioneer Wendy Lambert. The auction featured everything
from a five-night ski trip to Beaver Creek, Colo., to a meet-and-greet with gala performer Flo Rida.
After finishing an artistic chocolate raspberry tart that almost looked too good to eat, guests made their way to the golf course for the main event. Flo Rida, his band and dancers brought the house down with an electrifying performance that had guests out of their seats and dancing along.
When the concert was over, the party wasn’t. The fun continued back in the dinner tent, which event workers transformed to an upscale lounge for a late-night after party. Flo Rida made a surprise appearance at the soiree, where he danced and took selfies with guests until the early hours of the morning.
