As members of Temple Sinai filed into the temple's ballroom for the Shabbat L'Morim reception dinner on April 7, it was clear who the guest of honor was.
"Sue (Huntting) did so much to raise the bar of our Religious School over the last almost decade," event chairwoman Laurie Lachowitzer.
The event honored all of the temple's Religious School teachers, but particular thanks was paid to Huntting, who is retiring after nine years as Religious School Director.
Huntting's husband also served as the temple's rabbi for 23 years, bringing her tenure of service to 24 years.
"It's the end of a very long chapter that took a lot of twists along the way," Huntting said.
As she mingled with parents and children, it was easy for Huntting to identify what she would miss most.
"The kids," Huntting said. "That's a no brainer."
