Resident Longboat Key swans Susie and Sully are nesting on the Harbourside Golf Course, a sure sign of spring. Baby swans, or cygnets, hatch about 35 days after the beginning of incubation, usually around the first of May. Last year, the pair cared for three eggs but after bad weather flooded the nest several times, there were no hatchlings, David Novak, Longboat Key’s unofficial swan keeper, shared.
