‘Jo’s Place’

Jo Rutstein served on the Children First Board of Directors from 2009-14, but her impact is still being felt. Recently, the organization hung a sign reading “Jo’s Place” near its new playground. It recognizes her help in securing a grant to fund the new playground from the Rotary Club of Sarasota, of which Rutstein is a member.

Goldsteins commit gift to Selby Gardens

Get ready for a whole new Marie Selby Botanical Gardens. It’s working with design firm OLIN to reimagine the 15-acre bayfront botanical gardens. Although the details aren’t decided, they have a name for the upcoming welcome center — the Jean Goldstein Welcome Center. The center will be named in honor of a gift made possible by Alfred R. Goldstein, Jean’s husband and president of the Alfred and Ann Goldstein Foundation Inc.
