Sarasota High 5 Moments: 04.13.17

1 — Sarasota Crew won its sixth-straight team points trophy April 8-9 at the 2017 Florida Scholastic Rowing Association Sculling Championship. The team won six gold medals, six silver and four bronze.

2 — Cardinal Mooney senior weightlifter Dillon O’Neill won the Class 1A state title in the 238-pound weight class April 8 in DeLand, lifting a combined weight of 690 pounds.

3 — Sarasota High track and field junior Jaasiel Torres won the 300-meter hurdles (42.29 seconds), high jump (2 meters), long jump (6.81 meters) and triple jump (14.89 meters) April 6 at the Sarasota County Championships at Booker.

4 — Cardinal Mooney baseball senior Parker Shanahan went 2-3 with a walk and three runs scored April 4 in the Cougars’ 17-4 win over Imagine North Port.

5 — Riverview baseball senior Kevin Szafran had a triple, a walk and two RBI April 5 in the Rams’ 12-5 win over Manatee.
