Former Booker linebacker Abe Brown, 33, was one of five people killed April 13 in Louisville, Ky. He was found dead in a car. The official cause of Brown's death is gunshot wounds.
Brown graduated from Booker in 2001, and played for the University of Louisville from 2003-2006. He started for the Cardinals as a senior, when the team went 12-1 and won the Orange Bowl over Wake Forest.
On March 22, Brown launched a GoFundMe campaign to fund Family First Sports Academy, an organization intended to help underprivileged athletes find summer jobs and apply to colleges in addition to training them on the field.
Brown is the cousin of current Booker head coach Dumaka Atkins.
