Sarasota County continues to bolster its sports tourism game.

The Sarasota County Sports Commission and Suncoast Aquatic Nature Center Associates, Inc., announced Nathan Benderson Park will host the NCAA Division I, II and III Rowing Championships in 2021 and 2022. The park was already set to host the championships in 2018.

“We are very excited to land this prestigious event,” said Robert Wells, Director of Sports for Sarasota County, in a release. “Having a major NCAA event in our community is something coveted in the sports tourism industry. One day we hope that Sarasota is to NCAA Rowing as Omaha is to NCAA Baseball.”

Benderson Park will also host the 2017 World Rowing Championships in September and the 2018 World Rowing Masters Regatta.
