Track and field

The Lakewood Ranch boys track and field team won the Class 4A District 8 meet in Seminole. The Mustangs girls team finished second to Riverview. Sophia Falco won four individual events: the 100- (11.57 seconds) and 200-meter (24.12 seconds) races, the long jump (5.48 meters) and the triple jump (11.92 meters). 

Baseball

Lakewood Ranch beat Riverview 5-3. Dylan Buck led the Mustangs with two RBI. 

Braden River lost 6-5 to Sarasota High. Colin Apgar had two RBI in the loss.

Softball

Braden River beat Venice 5-1. Brooke Farrow had a go-ahead two-RBI triple in the sixth inning. 

Golf

Roger Ralston and Bill Lansdowne (-11) won Palm Aire Country Club's Men's Golf Association best ball event. William Wachter, Mark Romich, Robert Dobrzynski and Frank Darling (-3.18) won the club's Nine Hole Men's Golf Association scramble event. 

At University Park Country Club's Men's Golf Association team quota points event, Bill Dipaolo, Jim Bohmbach, Dave Sanders and Mark Sharff (+18) won the 1+10 division, and the teams of David Yankowitz, Bob Allen, Joe Marsh and Bob Lavery; and Ted Ellis, Jim Leto, John Haddock and Randy Bennett (+9) won the 10+19 division.
