Those visiting Main Street at Lakewood Ranch over the coming weeks need to pay attention to where they are parking.

Main Street Property Manager Amanda Zipperer said the parking lot is getting a new seal coating from Aug. 9 to Sept. 4 and the contractor performing work is authorized to tow vehicles that are in the way. The parking lot will be completed in phases, so patrons and businesses alike should pay attention to signs where the contractor is working that day and move their vehicles to an alternative parking area.

“The public needs to know that they should not leave their vehicles overnight,” Zipperer said. “If they are parking in a work zone, their vehicle will be towed.”

Patrons also should not walk on the new surface until barriers are down because it could ruin their shoes or clothes.

This is the first time the parking lot has been re-sealed at the 10-year-old plaza.
