Doctors Hospital of Sarasota honored two of its furry friends on Aug. 15 for their combined 600 hours of service to the hospital. Captain Red or "Cappy" and his owner Dee Covello have volunteered at the hospital since 2010, donating more than 500 hours. Likewise, Gem and her owner Gayle Guynup have volunteered since 2014 and have donated more than 100 hours. Both canines and their owners received pins and certificates for their services. The hospital also donated $500 to the Suncoast Humane Society and Southeastern Guide Dogs.
