+ Garden goodness

Lakewood Ranch Garden Club President Lori Walker has led her club's effort to nurture a

community garden at Greenbrook Adventure Park.

The group's efforts have paid off. The Florida Federation of Garden Clubs awarded the "Community Gardens Award" to the club for growing produce in the garden and donating it to the community.

The produce grown in the club's plot goes to Stillpoint House of Prayer, which provides food to people in need, among other services.

+ New on the block

Paul Tassler, who was hired in November to be the communications director at Harvest United Methodist Church, can finally communicate in person.

Tassler had been working remotely, but arrived in the area March 28 after moving from his home in Missouri.

"The sun here is marvelous, we are so thrilled to be here," Tassler said. "Harvest is an awesome fit and a wonderful church with a community that welcomes everyone."
