Dorothy Cole, of Longboat Key, died June 11. Services will be held at a later date.
David Kee
David Kee, 93, of Woburn, Mass., and formerly, Longboat Key, died June 12.
Dave was a U.S. Navy aviator serving in the South Pacific during World War II. When he returned, he married Phyllis E. Kee, and they spent 68 years together before she died.
Dave graduated from Tufts University then joined Kemper Insurance, where he remained for more than 35 years.
After retiring, he and Phyllis spent 25 years on Longboat Key, where they enjoyed the beach, golf, tennis, boating and dining with friends.
In 2009, they moved to Carmel Terrace, an assisted-living community in Massachusetts. The staff and residents there helped Dave to continue exercising at the gym, take part in tai chi classes, dine with relatives and friends and attend the Tufts Alumni Weekend Banquet.
Dave was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis; brothers, William, Robert, John and Thomas; and sister, Anna Lombardi.
He is survived by son, Robert Kee; daughters Carol Kee, Janet Coonfield, Debra Winn and Rita Davenport; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two cousins; and numerous nieces and nephews.
