Gerard Lionetti

Jerry Lionetti died Feb. 22.

He was a member of St. Mary, Star of the Sea, Catholic Church.

William C. Kordis

William C. Kordis was born July 1, 1932, and died March 16, 2016.

His family offers this memory: 

We thought of you today, but that is nothing new.

We thought about you yesterday and days before that too. We think of you in silence, we often speak your name. All we have are memories and your picture in a frame.

Your memory is a keepsake from which we’ll never part.

Because we all have you deep deep within our heart.

Stuart James McEnerney

Stuart James McEnerney, 87, of Hamden, Conn., died Feb. 9.

He was born in Derby, Conn., to the late Stuart and Mary McEnerney.

He received his bachelor’s degree in education from New Haven State Teachers College and later earned his master’s degree in audio-visual education and his doctorate at the University of Connecticut. He also earned an MBA from the University of New Haven.

He was the department chair of math and science at Gateway Community College, where he taught mathematics for 30 years. He was an adjunct professor at the University of New Haven, Southern Connecticut State University and Valencia Community College in Orlando.

He and his wife, Mary, owned and operated Mac’s Auto Driving School. He was active in politics and was the former Democratic chairman in North Branford, Conn. He was active in Hamden, serving as a member of the Democratic Town Committee, the Charter Commission, the Hamden Library Building Committee, and the Hamden Library Board. He was an active parishioner of St. Rita’s Church.

Before returning to Hamden, Stuart lived on Longboat Key and in Ponte Vedra.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Gertrude Foley McEnerney, and his second wife, Margaret Shoulta.

He is survived by his children, Kathy Avery, Eileen O’Neill, Lynn Pfeiffer, Jean Stevens, James McEnerney, Edward McEnerney, Christopher McEnerney and Stuart McEnerney; 14 grandchildren; two stepchildren, Kathaleen and Ken Kuiper; three step grandchildren; and his sisters, Jeanne Davidson and Mary Jane Hohenshelt; and several nieces and nephews.
