The Royal Rummage Sale officially kicked off at noon on March 3 with the early bird sale. Some people lined up hours before the doors open to ensure they could have a first look at the sale items.

Next to the ladies’ clothing, shoes were spread out on two long tables.
The parish hall of St. Mary, Star of the Sea, Catholic Church was bustling with people on March 3 as locals and visitors alike descended upon the hall for the annual Royal Rummage Sale.
From clothing and jewelry, to furniture and fishing poles, the sale has something for everyone, even kids.
The sale kicked off on March 3 with an early bird sale and continues on March 4 at 10 a.m.
The Royal Rummage sale is a staple of the church’s, and all of the money raised goes to local charities. Last year, the sale raised close to $40,000, however for the Women’s Guild, who organizes the sale, money isn’t the top priority.
“It’s not about money, it’s about the fellowship we have,” sale co-chairwoman Ingrid Wisniewski said.
The Royal Rummage Sale takes a village. The Women’s Guild begins collecting items in July and then begins organizing the donations in February. The guild met frequently to prepare for the sale and always enjoyed lunch together. The Men’s Club has also gotten more involved, especially with lifting heavy items, sale co-chairwoman Penny Koerner said.
