1 — Lakewood Ranch softball senior Logan Newton threw a complete game shutout with 12 strikeouts and went 2-for-4 with a double and a home run in the Mustangs’ 7-0 shutout of Sarasota on Feb. 28.

2 — Braden River baseball senior John Bean pitched six innings of one-run ball and got the win in the Pirates’ 10-1 victory over Armwood on Feb. 28.

3 — The Out-of-Door baseball team did not commit an error in its 13-inning, 5-4 win over Riverview on Feb. 27.

4 — John DelGrande and Don Baillie (-11) won the Men's Golf Association best ball event at Palm Aire Country Club on March 1.

5 — Lakewood Ranch resident Matt Bertrand finished tied for first in the inaugural Dunes 100 ultra-marathon (100 miles) at Jonathan Dickinson State Park in Jupiter on Feb. 25.
