Scoop, seal, box and repeat — that was the order of operations March 11 at St. Boniface Church as parishioners gathered to assemble 15,000 meals.
The church partnered with Rise Against Hunger, which distributes meals to those suffering from chronic hunger around the world.
The volunteers beat last year's total by 5,000 meals. Event organizer Larry Patton has high hopes the church will surpass that mark in the future.
"We expect to beat it next year," Patton said.
